This and many other dental problems are quite rampant in childhood. Regular visits help in detecting a dental issue quickly and in beginning the treatment in the early phases itself, so that the damage done by the problem is less or negligible. A regular visit to the dentist is a must to check if there is any other problem in the teeth like cavities or bleeding gums.
If a dental problem is left untreated in childhood, it can lead to a lifetime of inconvenience. There are different types of dental insurance policies that cover different types of dental problems and dental procedures. Insurance is helpful as a last resort, but the best prevention is always to decrease the intake of sweet and acidic food. Another way to prevent these is to slowly introduce kids to healthier food choices, and teach them appropriate dental hygiene.
